What breeds do you work with?

All breeds!

What age is too old to train?

No age is too old to train! As long as they are physically and mentally healthy, training can occur at any age. Old dogs CAN learn new tricks!

Do you work with dogs with bite histories?

I do depending on the circumstance. Let me know your dog’s story and history and I will let you know if I am educated and comfortable enough to help your dog and their needs, or refer you to a specialist. Dogs bite for many different reasons, but with how sensitive and important of a topic it is, I want to make sure you are in the right hands before moving forward!

How do I know if training or your type of training is right for me and my dog?

I offer free 30 minute consultations where we can meet and I can talk to you more about my approach, you and your dog’s needs, and any other questions you may have before moving forward! This consultation can occur virtually or in person. It is important to me that you feel comfortable and confident in the trainer you chose!

What type of training topics can you work with?

I can help you train your dog on basic communication skills such as sit, down, leave it, drop it, recall, listening with distractions, stay, wait, trick training, door boundaries, loose leash walking, and much more! I can also help with building confidence, anxieties, desensitization, navigating safe interactions with new dogs, noise sensitivities, reactivity, and more! If there are ever any circumstances I do not feel confident and skilled in I will refer you to someone else who is more experienced in that topic.

Do you train my dog or do you train me?

I work with you and your dog. The majority of the time I like to teach the owner(s) how to work with their dog(s) so they understand what to do when I am not there, and so the pet parent can learn more about how dogs learn, communicate, and how to navigate obstacles. I will step in when needed, but I mainly train you the owner how to work with your own dog as this sets you up for success in the future and helps strengthen your relationship and bond with your dog. You will mainly have the leash in your hands.

What if I want someone to take my dog, train them, then bring them back to me?

Unfortunately, I do not offer these services. These are called day training or board and train services. If these are your preference I suggest looking for another trainer or training company.

Do you value continued education?

1000% yes! Dog behavior is such a large topic that there is always room to learn more. I love finding new research, journals, articles, books, attending seminars, and more! As a professional I should be doing what I can to keep up with current research so I can provide the pet parents I work with with the best care and methods I can to set everyone up for success!
